Rockin' Best Shot Monday

Well, we are back from our summer adventure. Whew. That means of course we are back home to the many luxuries we've missed (like a king size bed and a hot shower) but also those we didn't miss (like endless laundry, dirty dishes and the clean up from the great flood that happened before we left). Even still, it's great to be home.

The amazing Stephanie seems to be feeling the same way and shared it in this little gem over at Shutter Sisters. Her post prompted my Best Shot for this week as it's the perfect example of the earth's currency. There's nothing more endearing than to have your child discover one of nature's treasures.

It was along the dirt road on the way to the frog pond that my youngest unearthed this beauty she has since dubbed The Spud Rock (for obvious reasons). That rock came along on the rest of our vacation with us. It even crossed the border into Canada and back again and now it's taken it's rightful place on my daughter's bedroom dresser.

What sorts of treasures have you captured this week? Do share. And welcome back...I missed you.

Welcome back, Tracey...we missed YOU!

I love the "spud" and that he (she?) is now a fixture in your home, too.

We just returned from vacation, and it really does feel amazing to be home, almost as good as the vacation itself...almost!

My BSM is from our vacation, too.

Missed ya!

Oh vacation laundry in a flooded laundry room totally stinks.

But spud totally rocks!

What a coincidence, the boys brought home something...

That is one cool rock. We brought back a piece of rock from Crazy Horse one year. The security guys in the airport got a kick out of it being in our carry on bag. (pre-911 days)

Welcome home!

Here is my best shot.

Glad you had a good trip! I have to agree that one of the downers of coming back from any trip is the mountain of laundry after the trip. Although a flood too wouldn't help.

I'm sharing a unique way to scratch an itch. ;)

I had a rock at that age which I used as a 'camera' on my vacation across the US. I drew all the 'photos' that I had taken.
Called in yesterday but I was too early. Now I'm late!

Welcome home...we missed you! Traveling is such fun, but there is nothing like coming home...your own bed, the luxury of your things...hope you have some time to rest up before it gets hectic again! I LOVE the spud rock. I collected rocks when I was little and still sort of do now. Whenever I visit somewhere new, I bring a few rocks home from that place. (tiny rocks, pebbles really, nothing as ginormous as the spud! LOL) I love the idea of the "earth's currency"...I used that in my post about blueberries...thanks for the inspiration- always. Also, sorry I am so late- a whole day late!

Great BSM. Isn't asmazing to see the world around you through a childs eye. Most people would just walk over a rock, kids bring them to life.

I love this picture of your daughter and her "spud" rock. My 2-year-old daughter also loved rocks and would keep every one she found if I let her!
