Reflecting on my Best Shot

As our winter vacation comes to an end and Monday marks the beginning of the normal daily routine, I'm reflecting on the past few weeks and acknowledge that the Clark family had a really nice holiday. No drama and even better, no illness. That's huge! We also managed to cram in all sorts of very cool activities (without it feeling frenetic) and even enjoyed a few nights of grown-up time while the kids lived it up at the Grandparent's. All in all, it was a stellar vacation.

I tucked my girls in early tonight and already I hear the deep dreamy breathing of children exhausted from a fantastic two week break from the daily hustle and bustle of school, piano, ballet, homework, volleyball, hula and girl scouts. No doubt we will all wake tomorrow bleary eyed and one step behind as we stumble back into the daily grind but I for one can't wait to get my time back.
Big grateful exhale.

My Best Shot this week is one from the many great places we visited. There's just something about this photo that I love. How about you? Have you had a chance to reflect on your holiday? Would you care to share a shot or two? Come on, you know you do.

That sounds like the perfect holiday. Full of fun family times, but yet still calm and relaxing. Ahhh!
I really love the photo. the framing is awesome, and I love the contrast between the shiny forground and muted background.

Hereis my BSM. I'll be gone much of the day tomorrow, but I look forward to visting everyone's posts even if it's late!

Tracey, such an interesting composition and great colors!

I'm not sure how to post mine as a link, so this is the best I could do:

could someone leave notes for how to publish as a link?

This one is not the best technical - flash in a dark room with a p&s, but it was a great capture of Christmas happiness expression!

How wonderful - glad you had an excellent holiday.

As for the photo - it's simply amazing - just incredible - the colours, the lights, the shadows - the whole thing is awesome.

Wow, Tracey! Did you just know as you took that shot how cool it was going to be? I really love it (and Kidspace, too!).

We had a great, healthy holiday too - and visited the La Brea tarpits last week - first time ever! My BSM is from that visit - I have so many photos from the last few weeks to work on...but just running out of time.

The colors in that shot are amazing -- and her expression is priceless.

We'll be one step behind this morning too, I'm sure!

Let's try this again - with PROPER formatting!

Great photo ! I've been doing a lot of reflecting too. So - I give my first ever BSM - a shot that makes me smile.

Where is that shot? It's really interesting, and I love the framing :)

Here's my BSM. I actually like this shot a little better, but since I'm doing Project 365 (and the kid's version) this year, I've been posting my pictures every which way, sometimes a little too soon for this best shot post. Oh well, I'll learn :)

Sounds like you had a great holiday! Ours was very nice as well. Here is a picture that I took with my new 50 mm lens. http://flickr.com/photos/divrchk/2160456620/

My parents are coming to watch the kids in February so my hubs and I can get away to Vegas for a few days. It's been over 4 1/2 years since we've had a mini vacation alone. The joys of military and not living near family!

I had a slew to pick from, but here is my favorite for BSM.

Sounds like it was a wonderful vacation! I've been away from BSM, so I am thrilled to be joining you all here, and so looking forward to catching up with all of you.

I posted this one before I saw Tracey's post about reflections, funny!

Christie,
Here's what you do to post a link as opposed to just the URL.

This is known as an anchor tag in HTML. Copy exactly what you see here, but where it says yourdomain, put the URL to your BSM. Then, where it says visit our site, type the words you want to highlight, like the name of your photo, or MY BSM HERE.

Hope that helps!
Anna

tracey clark said...

anna, i think where it says Visit Our Site you wanted there to be HTML code right? That's the issue I have been having...everytime I try to post code to share Blogger then reads the code and translates it (as it should I guess) and therefore I can't post code in a blogger post.

does anyone have any suggestions as to how to post code in a post?

What a cool shot. It's somewhat surreal, that tunnel, with the reflection and the little colorful pieces in it.
I wish our vacation was free of illness, too, but it wasn't, other than that we had a nice break.

Ok, I already commented but I have to say something else. I just clicked on your shot, Tracey to view it larger and it is gorgeous! I am recommending that everyone view it larger to get the true feel. And your daughter is stunning in this shot. And I love her dainty little hand out to the side. Ok...I'll stop.

Posting looks like this (just copy and paste this little bit of code and fill in your own url)
<a href="http://imabima.blogspot.com/2008/01/i-want-to-be-like-dadbsm.html">My Best Shot Monday</a>

and by the way...
okay here's how to post html code in a blogger comment:
Go here for an explanation.

Go here for a converter that will help you to convert html so blogger will show it up.

*and* by the way, if you can't see the full thing above, go back to Mother May I, click on the post title from today's post, and you'll see all the comments in blogger rather than in the comments section. It's easier to see them all and they are full-across. Nothing gets cut off that way. Makes it easier to follow everyone's links or non-links as the case may be.

Hope this helps! Tracey, feel free to repost this anywhere you'd like:-)
